How does it function?
At the start of the cycle, when the upper lid opens, the operator loads the waste into the loading chamber.
The shredder, overseen by the PLC, alters its rotation direction thanks to the “anti-blocking” feature, preventing blade jams. Throughout the shredding process, the waste undergoes treatment with microwaves generated by 6 integrated magnetron units (Optional).
Our uniquely designed shredder can grind exceptionally hard materials such as surgical stainless steel instruments and tough ceramics.
Heating is accomplished by injecting saturated steam until the temperature becomes homogeneous in both the upper and lower chambers, reaching 134°C (274°F). Sterilization is then achieved by maintaining a temperature range of 134°C (274°F) to 138°C (280°F) and equivalent pressure for a duration of 10 to 15 minutes. These conditions enable a reduction in pathogenic contamination levels in medical waste by a factor of 8 Log 10.
During the cooling phase, any excess steam in the chamber is expelled, and the temperature of the ground sterilized waste is reduced by injecting cold air into the autoclave chamber.
The condensed water, which is sterile and safe for disposal, is drained from the system using either positive pressure or vacuum assistance, allowing it to be safely discharged into the sewage system.
When the unloading lid opens and a container is positioned beneath the waste drawer, the operator pulls out the drawer and empties the sterile waste into the container.
As the container is moved away, the lower lid closes, and the sterilizer automatically initiates the next cycle.
