How does it function?
At the commencement of the cycle, upon the opening of the upper lid, the automated lift dispenses the refuse from the loading chamber. Shredding commences upon the closure of the upper lid.
The PLC-operated shredder alters its rotation direction thanks to its “anti-jamming” feature, ensuring the blades remain unobstructed.
Our uniquely engineered shredder can effectively grind resilient materials such as surgical-grade stainless steel tools and tough ceramics.
The blending mechanism within the upper chamber ensures a constant supply of material to the shredder.
Heating is accomplished by infusing saturated steam until both the upper and lower chambers reach a uniform temperature of 134°C (274 F). Sterilization is finalized by sustaining a temperature range of 134°C (274 F) to 138°C (280 F) and corresponding pressure for 10 to 15 minutes.
These parameters offer the potential to reduce the level of pathogenic contamination in medical waste by a factor of 8 Log 10.
During the cooling phase, surplus steam within the chamber is expelled, and the temperature of the sterilized shredded waste is reduced by introducing cold air into the autoclave chamber.
The sterile condensed water, deemed safe for disposal into the sewage system, is extracted with either positive pressure or vacuum assistance.
When the unloading lid is lifted and a container is positioned beneath the chamber, the waste trap is activated to release the sterilized material. As the container is removed, the lower lid shuts, and the sterilizer initiates the subsequent cycle automatically.
